Pile heads, Aziëhaven

Mooring facilities Aziëhaven

In collaboration with Hakkers BV, we have installed six pile heads in the Aziëhaven. This is a harbor in the Amsterdam port area where transshipment and processing of construction materials take place. The harbor in Westpoort consists of six basins named after different continents. The pile heads we installed serve as mooring facilities for shipping in this harbor.

Pile head production

The 10-ton pile heads were internally coated and painted in a distinctive bright yellow color. After the welding and coating work was completed, the pile heads were further equipped with friction skirts, ladders, and grates. The friction skirts are fitted with plastic wear pads to minimize damage to vessels in case of contact. To reduce construction time in the harbor, the fabricated pile heads were delivered as complete units. These were installed and welded on-site onto steel pipe piles.

After the welding and coating work was completed, the pile heads were further outfitted with friction skirts, ladders, and grates.
