Kerkbrug Nieuw-Amsterdam, Municipality Emmen
On behalf of the Municipality of Emmen, we renovated the Kerkbrug in Nieuw-Amsterdam. Within a period of just over a month, we completed the disassembly, renovation, and reassembly of the bridge.
30-ton lifting beam
In early October 2023, the Kerkbrug was lifted out and transported to our production facility. We performed several repair works on the bridge. The bridge’s pivot points were overhauled by us, during which we checked whether these parts needed replacement. Other tasks included modifying and reinforcing the lifting leaf and the counterbalance. Parts of the steel structure were also replaced, including the railings and the suspension rods. After the repair work, the bridge was recoated with a new protective and wear-resistant layer.
The pivot points of the bridge were overhauled by us, during which we inspected whether these components needed replacement.
Bridge repositioning
At the end of October 2023, the Kerkbrug was lifted back into its original position using a mobile crane. With the completed work, the bridge is now ready to withstand use for some time to come.
