On behalf of DIMCO, we produced four fender systems in 2022/2023 for Koole Tankstorage Botlek B.V. (KTB) in Rotterdam. These fender systems serve as mooring facilities in the Port of Rotterdam and are suitable for both sea-going and inland vessels.
The fender systems
The project involves the construction of four fender systems with lengths ranging from 165 to 215 meters (a total of 725 meters). The fender systems weigh 1,350 tons in total. Each fender system is therefore divided into multiple sections. These sections range from 15 to 28 meters in length and weigh between 30 and 62 tons. In addition to these sections, we also manufactured the accompanying stairs and platforms in our production facility. After production, the sections were internally coated, and the stairs and platforms were hot-dip galvanized. The sections were then transported by water from our location in Heeg in six separate shipments.

Collaboration
During this project, we collaborated with our sister company Kampstaal from Emmeloord. They were responsible for part of the pipe cutting work. This involved the largest pipes Kampstaal has cut to date: Ø1829/25 – 14 meters – 15.6 tons.
