Guide Structure Hartelkanaal, Rotterdam
Since 2021, renovation work has been underway in the Hartel Canal and near the Suurhoff Bridge in Rotterdam. In addition to the extra arch bridge installed in 2021, significant efforts are being made to construct a new shoreline connection.
6 tubular structures and 10 fender beams
In collaboration with Tebezo Waterbouw & Nautische Dienstverlening B.V., Nauta Heeg constructed a new guide structure. The structure consists of six tubular elements, each measuring 30.5 meters in length, and ten fender beams that serve as guide rails for maritime traffic. The entire guide structure spans a total length of 24.5 meters and has been installed in the Hartel Canal next to the Suurhoff Bridge.

A TruSteel collaboration
At our facility in Heeg, the tubular piles and corresponding brackets were produced. The fender beams were manufactured by our sister company Kampstaal, who also fitted them with the required slots and drill holes. A great example of collaboration within the TruSteel Group. After production, the piles and beams were transported to Rotterdam using special transport, where the entire structure is being assembled.
