Police Jetty, IJmuiden

Van Hattum en Blankevoort was looking for a reliable partner to supply components for a new police jetty. TruSteel had previously delivered an adjacent jetty for Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management. The successful collaboration and Rijkswaterstaat’s satisfaction with the result laid the foundation for this follow-up contract.

Selective Extraction

The IJmuiden Police Jetty is part of the Selective Extraction measure within the large-scale IJmuiden Sea Lock project, a crucial link in ensuring the accessibility and safety of the Port of Amsterdam.

The sea lock allows more salt water to enter the canal. To protect nature, agriculture, horticulture and drinking water supplies from salinisation, a solution was developed through the Selective Extraction measure, which allows salt water to flow back towards the North Sea.

As part of this complex infrastructure project, several jetties are being constructed for monitoring, maintenance and enforcement. The police jetty fulfils an important operational role within this initiative.

Structural Steel

TruSteel supplied tubular piles and additional steel components for the construction of the jetty. Thanks to our involvement in the larger Rijkswaterstaat jetty project, we were able to respond quickly and align seamlessly with the contractor’s planning and execution.
