Arch Bridge Geesbrug, Municipality of Coevorden
Commissioned by the Municipality of Coevorden, we carried out repairs on the bicycle and pedestrian arch bridge in Geesbrug. The condition of the arch bridge was suboptimal. To extend its lifespan, we were appointed to perform major maintenance on the bridge.
The deteriorated steel components of the bridge were replaced.
The existing coating, which protects the metal of the bridge, had completely deteriorated in several areas. To preserve the condition of the arch bridge, proper maintenance is essential. We were brought in to replace the deteriorated steel components and to recoat the bridge. After blasting the bridge, we assessed together with the client which steel parts needed replacement. Where necessary, these components were replaced by us.
The bridge was lifted out, renovated, and reinstalled at its original location within a one-month timeframe.

The bridge was lifted out, renovated, and lifted back into place at its original location within a one-month timeframe. The on-site work was carried out using a mobile crane. Thanks to the work performed, the bicycle and pedestrian arch bridge is ready for many more years of use.
