De Boer Staal and De Boer Snijbedrijf are committed to the energy transition. The North Holland-based steelmaker has now invested in over 3,240 solar panels. It marks a major step towards sustainable operations and is consistent with the company’s ambition to contribute to the energy transition. Trusteel Energy was commissioned to complete this fabulous project in 2021.
3240 solar panels
which saw us install a total of 3,240 solar panels on the roof of the 11,000 m² industrial hall at De Boer Staal in Uitgeest. We also installed eight SMA Sunny Tripower Core2 inverters. The solar panels not only have the capacity to generate around one million kWh of green electricity each year, they also eliminate some 530 tonnes of annual CO2 emissions.
SDE+ grant (Stimulation of Sustainable Energy)
An application has been submitted for an SDE+ grant (Stimulation of Sustainable Energy) for the installation of the first 1,500 solar panels, a joint endeavour between the sustainable steelmaker and GreenBiz IJmond. The latter works on behalf of seventeen local authorities in North Holland, carrying out environmental tasks and offering entrepreneurs insight into their emissions and energy usage. All parties collaborated successfully to bring the project to completion in March 2021.
