Energy storage for divisions within TruSteel Group

Within TruSteel Group, we actively invest in our own energy storage. In collaboration with our business unit TruSteel Energy and partner Friday Energy, we have implemented three smart energy storage systems for our sister companies: Nauta Heeg, Kampstaal, and Kamplacon.

Energy storage systems

The energy storage systems enable our locations to respond flexibly and efficiently to dynamic energy tariffs. They help reduce peak consumption and allow the existing grid connection to be used optimally. Thanks to the declining costs of storage technologies, a payback period of just three to four years is within reach. Additionally, the systems can compensate for power shortages at the connection, making better use of the current grid capacity. This provides a smart and future-proof solution to an increasingly urgent problem, especially as grid operator Liander does not expect to provide additional grid capacity until 2031.

What makes this project special is that we work not only for, but also with, our colleagues in other divisions. By sharing knowledge and expertise, we strengthen each other and collectively build a more sustainable future.
